On the sacred occasion of Mother’s Day, Arya Samaj Mississauga joyfully celebrated this special day on May 10, 2026. The gathering served as a heartfelt tribute to the eternal spirit of motherhood, regarded in Vedic wisdom as the first teacher, nurturer, and embodiment of unconditional love.
The celebration began with a pious Vedic Agnihotra (Yajna) performed by the mothers. During the ceremony, the Dr Ravi Srivastva, Vedic Priest, emphasized the importance of understanding the meaning of Vedic mantras while chanting them. Special attention was given to the sacred word “Swah,” symbolizing affirmation, surrender, and devotion.
Following the spiritual opening, children and youth presented a variety of cultural performances, including speeches, poems, devotional presentations, and traditional dances. Their participation brought vibrancy & enthusiasm to the celebration while reflecting their love and respect for mothers and Vedic culture.
The performances included an energetic Bhangra dance based on a folk song celebrating motherhood, along with a graceful Bharatanatyam presentation. The involvement of participants from different age groups made the event both lively and memorable.
An interactive Mother’s Day Kahoot quiz was also organized. Participants of all ages enthusiastically joined the activity, making it both educational and enjoyable.
Vedic Education and Student Achievements
The DAV Gurukul Vedic Values Classes conducted by Arya Samaj Mississauga continue to guide students in Vedic learning and cultural values. Recently, the Shri Krishna Batch for Grades 4 to 8 conducted a quiz as part of their educational activities. The top six students were awarded prizes in recognition of their excellent performance, while other participating students were also acknowledged for their sincere efforts and participation.
Vedica Group and Event Organization
A special acknowledgement is extended to Vedica, the young women’s group of Arya Samaj Mississauga, for thoughtfully planning and organizing the entire celebration. Their dedicated efforts included arranging the Agnihotra, satsang, cultural programs, quiz activities, and prasad. Their seva and teamwork beautifully reflected the spirit of unity and community service.
The management of Arya Samaj Mississauga expresses sincere gratitude to all volunteers, participants, families, and attendees who contributed their time and effort to make the event successful. The celebration concluded with everyone enjoying a delicious meal.
The event was a spiritually uplifting and memorable celebration of motherhood, and the Arya Samaj community looks forward to celebrating this occasion again in the coming years.
